Factory CD Changer to Aftermarket Head Unit?
Are there any head units that can be connected to and contrlo a factory CD changer? I like the cd changer and it's location in the console but I would like to get an aftermarket head unit and an in dash monitor. The unit would also need Aux inputs. Thx.

God grant that I may live to fish
Until my dying day
And when it comes to my last cast
Then I most humbly pray
When in the Lord's safe landing net
I'm peacefully asleep
That in His mercy I'll be judged
As big enough to keep.

I'm pretty sure you cant hook the stock cd changer up to a aftermarket deck. I had this problem when i bought my truck. I had a Sony deck that i wanted in but had get rid of the changer. i've asked several people on this subject and the've said that its not possible. If u find a way let me know.

i had a pannasonix touch screen head unit in my grand prix that had aux units and a cd changer wire. As far as i know it should be possible its just a matter of figuring out which wires go where most newer aftermarket cd players have a wire for a cd changer. i have never personally done one so im not real sure how it works out.

Fastlane,
You ever get an answer to this question??
I have the same concern, plugging in the Ford CD changer, to the rear of the Pioneers.... They have something called an IP-Bus for connecting to changers.
Is this an industry standard that Ford also subscribes to??? ....any other of youse been able to plug in a factory changer?? I'd rather not hack up my factory wiring if at all possible.....
Thanks,
Steve

first of all you have to make sure that the head unit is compatible with a changer, then just go to the audio shop and get the wiring harness to hook it up to your head unit

FastLane:
Same question I had back in June...Anyway, went to a shop and the stock CD unit is made by Clarion....So the Guy says that a Clarion HU should fit and work just fine...Don't really know what Clarion has on the market right now...plus I'm broke at the moment
Would you or anyone else know if i took out the rear 6x9's would 8's fit or is better to try and get them custom fitted behind the rear seat?
